Big Club hurling games to look forward to at the weekend!
Adult games
A big weekend for the hurlers as we move to the ‘business end’ of the leagues. On Sunday morning we welcome St Finian’s, Swords to Clontarf for the promotion semi final with 11am throw in. Then on Sunday afternoon the 2nd hurling team travel to Malahide for a semi final game v St Sylvesters at 2.30pm.
All support would be very welcome for this important games!
Keep an eye on Facebook / Twitter for updates on fixtures due to the current weather conditions.
Juveniles
Nursery / Naoinra
Due to the very poor weather conditions last Saturday, the Nursery was cancelled for the first time in a long time – I’m sure the ‘lie in’ was appreciated by some!
Under 8s – 11s
The teams are continuing to train on Saturday morning now that the fixtures are complete for the year. Midweek training is on hold until early in the New Year. The Mentors & Coaches made sure that all the participants had a good run out last Saturday which kept everyone warm on a pretty miserable morning!
Juvenile/Family Membership Subscriptions
The new Juvenile and Family membership year is upon us. The year runs from October 2015 to end September 2016.
Membership fees are €90 for Juveniles and €250 for Families (i.e. 2 parents/guardians and their children aged under 18). The fees go towards Coaching costs, registration, insurance, equipment and other expenses.
Subscriptions can be paid online at www.scoilgaaa.com or in the Clubhouse on each Saturday morning in November to Dominic Morgan, Treasurer or directly to your team mentor.
Forms are available in the Clubhouse, on the website on our ‘Resources’ page or from your mentor.
Club AGM
The Club AGM is scheduled for Thursday 26th November in the Clubhouse at 8pm. All members are invited to attend. Have you considered ‘stepping up’ and getting involved in helping to organize the Club activities – there are lots of areas where help would be welcome so please keep it in mind!
The Club accounts will be available for review in advance of the meeting. Club Treasurer Dominic Morgan will be in the Clubhouse tomorrow Thursday 19th November to give any Adult Members the chance to review the accounts.
Club Lotto
No winner of last week’s jackpot. The number’s drawn were 1, 3, 6 and 21. Next week’s jackpot will be 1050 and all support is greatly appreciated. Draw takes place on Thursday night. If you can, please select 4 numbers on the envelope and pop in €2 – every little helps!
Volunteer Night
We’re holding a special ‘Volunteer Night’ on Friday 20th November in the Club. The night is open to everyone involved in supporting the Club throughout the year. This is an opportunity to meet up with volunteers working in all areas of the Club whether managing / coaching teams, helping in the shop, on the bar roster, helping with administration or any other aspect you are welcome to drop in on the night. Drinks will be priced at €2 and there will be finger food also. As our Volunteers are priceless we want to acknowledge their support from the Club while meeting new friends!
***Bag Packing Fundraiser***
We’ve been allocated a fund raising bag packing slot by our sponsor Nolans’ Supermarket on Tuesday 22nd December. We’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day starting at 9am and finishing up around 7pm for between 1 and 2 hours. Every hour counts as this is a great opportunity to raise vital funds to support Club activity. We welcome Members (from Under 12 up), family and friends to take part. Please contact TJ Farrelly at 086 8326644 to lend your support.
