Adult games

A really big weekend for the hurlers as have reached the Division 4 Promotion Play off FInal.   On Sunday morning we welcome Clontarf GAA to the Club for an 11am throw in.  Support from one and all would be very welcome for this game!

On Sunday afternoon last the 2nd hurling team lost out in their play off semi final game v St Sylvesters.  A slow start to this game for the lads who fell behind to their more keen opponents.  An excellent second half wasn’t enough to catch Sylvesters but it did provide a strong finish to the season for all the lads.  Well done to the team and management for reaching the play off stages of the league.

Keep an eye on Facebook / Twitter for updates on fixtures due to the current weather conditions.

Juveniles

Nursery / Naoinra

A great buzz in the Club on Saturday as the youngest members were put through the paces by the team of coaches with Aideen Naughton looking after activities.  There was plenty of games, skills practice and fun to keep everyone warm and active.

Under 8s – 11s

The teams are continuing to train on Saturday now that the fixtures are complete for the year.  Midweek training is on hold until early in the New Year.  The Boys and Girls enjoyed their workout on Saturday and will be training again next weekend.

Juvenile/Family Membership Subscriptions

The new Juvenile and Family membership year is upon us.  The year runs from October 2015 to end September 2016.

Membership fees are €90 for Juveniles and €250 for Families (i.e. 2 parents/guardians and their children aged under 18).  The fees go towards Coaching costs, registration, insurance, equipment and other expenses.

Subscriptions can be paid online at www.scoilgaaa.com  or in the Clubhouse on each Saturday morning in November to Dominic Morgan, Treasurer or directly to your team mentor.

Forms are available in the Clubhouse, on the website on our ‘Resources’ page or from your mentor.

***Club AGM***

The Club AGM is scheduled for Thursday 26th November in the Clubhouse at 8pm.  All members are invited to attend.  Have you considered ‘stepping up’ and getting involved in helping to organize the Club activities – there are lots of areas where help would be welcome so please keep it in mind!

Club Lotto

No winner of last week’s jackpot but we had one lucky winner of the match 3 prize – congratulations Mary Morgan!  The number’s drawn were 1, 16, 18 and 24.  Next week’s jackpot will be 1050 and all support is greatly appreciated.  Draw takes place on Thursday night.  If you can, please select 4 numbers on the envelope and pop in €2 – every little helps!

Volunteer Night

Our special ‘Volunteer Night’ took place on Friday 20th November in the Club.  There was a great buzz in the Clubhouse as everyone enjoyed meeting up for a social event and some food / drinks.  A big thank you to Aidan and Pauric who looked after the bar and to Joan and her team for looking after the food.  Well done also to Aidan who ran an excellent time in the Clontarf Half Marathon on Saturday morning. Maith an fear!

St Vincent de Paul Charity Fundraiser

We’re holding our annual Charity fundraising activities in aid of St Vincent de Paul next Saturday 28th November between 10am and 12.30pm.  The BBQ will be on the go for our sizzling sausages as well as tea, coffee and mince pies upstairs in the Clubhouse.  We will also have some books if you’re interested in browsing.  All donations are passed to St Vincent de Paul as the expenses are covered by our generous sponsors. Hope to see you on Saturday.

***Bag Packing Fundraiser***

We’ve been allocated a fund raising bag packing slot by our sponsor Nolans’ Supermarket on Tuesday 22nd December.  We’re looking for volunteers to help out on the day starting at 9am and finishing up around 7pm for between 1 and 2 hours.  Every hour counts as this is a great opportunity to raise vital funds to support Club activity.  We welcome Members (from Under 12 up), family and friends to take part.  Please contact TJ Farrelly at 086 8326644 to lend your support.

Comhghairdeas to our Club GPO Joanne Courtney and her Donaghmoyne team on winning their All Ireland Club semi final last Saturday.
