Great performance by the Junior hurlers in their win over Ná Gaeilge Óga in the championship last Thursday. Several highlights for the supporters was the excellent fielding by Cathal O’Flynn on his return as well as the free taking of Sean O’Connor. Both mentors expressed their satisfaction with the way the team played against an opposition who had expectations of a win!
The Ladies played Portobello in the Cup this evening in a very close and competitive game, particularly in the 2nd half. Portobello got off to a flyer and raced in an 11 point lead. However our Girls never give up and came back to draw level with a few minutes remaining. Unfortunately the fantastic effort made by the Girls to catch their opponents wasn’t enough as Portobello added two points in the final few minutes to win the game. Great support on the sideline in St Annes which gave the girls a great boost and everyone who watched the game was very impressed with the standard of play.
Big football championship games this weekend starting on Friday with the Intermediate game in O’Toole Park v Cuala followed by Junior championship on Sunday in Hartstown v St Peregrines. Support very welcome!
Keep an eye on Facebook / Twitter for updates on fixtures.
Juveniles
Under 12 Girls 29-5-2015
This was a game of two halves against Parnells and a gale force wind. The girls made a great start and were leading by two points at half time. The second half playing into the wind the girls scored points but could not find the net although the ball hit the bar a few times. Parnells had no such bad luck and slammed home goals in the second half which should have demoralised the girls but didn’t seem to bother them as they played on gamely to the end with greatly improved play by some of them much to the encouragement of the coaches.
The team are currently mid table in a 19 team unseeded league so well done girls.

Dublin Double Header
Great excitement in the Club on Sunday for all those booked on the trip to Croker. Plenty of sandwiches in the Clubhouse to set everyone up for the trip as well as tea, coffee and some other drinks. The luxury coach took us on a spin so everyone could enjoy the short trip to Jones Road for a little longer while the singers belted out a few appropriate tunes. While the Dublin footballers made short work of their opponents, the hurling game was much more exciting. Everyone was delighted with the win and the draw in the hurling game which could have gone either way in the last 5 minutes. Then it was back to the Coach for the return trip to the Clubhouse where the food was set up and a hot plate was very welcome! A very pleasant evening meant everyone could enjoy the facilities with the juveniles making the most of the pitches outside while the adults analyzed the Dublin performances! Thanks to Michael behind the bar who looked after everyone and to Louise for the food. Well done to Ronan for organising the event which was enjoyed by everyone with great feedback and compliments!
Note – Great to hear that the Dublin v Galway replay will be shown on RTE2 on Saturday. Coverage starts at 4.30pm.
