Adult games
There were some very entertaining hurling games in the Club over the past week or so starting with the ‘back match’ on 11th August as the first team took on Craobh Chiarain in the championship. With some players on holidays, this was an opportunity for some positional changes which worked out very well in this one sided game. It was a good warm up for the Championship quarter final on Saturday evening in the Club against a very well organised and eager Faughs team who arrived early with almost 30 players. The following extract was included in the Evening Herald report this week:
‘Coady leads Scoil to JHC Semi-finals’
Scoil Uí Chonaill produced an impressive display when defeating Faughs by 1-15 to 2-9 in their Dublin Junior A Hurling Championship quarter final on the Clontarf Road last Saturday evening. The hosts showed well throughout with defenders Kevin Purcell and Killian Linnane to the fore while Ger O’Connell was hugely influential in the home midfield. In attack Ger Coady (we know he means Ruairi aka Fudge) took the scoring honors as he accrued 1-5 over the hour and with Neil O’Flynn and Barry Cushen sharing eight points, the hosts confirmed their win through a point apiece by Alistair Cassidy and Andy Bunyan.
The semi final is set for Sat 29th August v Naomh Fionnbarra at 6pm in Clontarf. Support Vital!
The second team had a great win on Thursday evening in the league against St Joseph’s OCB but unfortunately lost out in their championship quarter final on Sunday morning. This game was also covered in the Herald and
Lots of games this weekend too, starting on Saturday evening with an away trip to play St Peregrines in the Division 2 league. Then on Sunday morning the 2nd team play St Joseph’s OCB in the Division 8 league at 11am in Clontarf.
Thanks to everyone who has supported any team in the Club as it is always appreciated. Hope to see you on the sideline again soon!

Juvenile Summer Camps
The football camp, our final summer camp of 2015, is underway this week. Great start on Tuesday with lovely weather conditions but it was a mix of indoor and outdoor activity today. Let’s hope the final two days are good so everyone enjoys the event. You can check out some pictures of the Hurling Camp held last week in the Club at:

Dublin
Delighted to see Molly Power playing for the Dublin Ladies Under 17 team in the All Ireland Blitz in Portmarnock on Tuesday. Molly was an integral part of the team and played in all games including wins over Kildare and Cork and a draw with Mayo. They qualified for the semi final but lost out in that game. Well done also to Jonathan Rock who is part of the management team for the Under 17s. There are some great pictures of the team including action shots of Molly at http://gaapics.zenfolio.com/p715004360#h53c7b69a
The Dubliln Senior ladies head to Clones on Saturday for their Quarter Final clash with Joanne Courtney’s Monaghan at 2.15pm Best wishes to everyone traveling to the game.
The excitement is building for the Dublin v Mayo All Ireland Semi Final on Sunday 30th August. The Club ticket order has been submitted and the tickets will be available for collection on Thursday 27th August. Depending on demand from Club’s in Dublin and Mayo, the GAA will then determine how many, if any, tickets are available for sale. The Club will be open on the day and we welcome everyone to drop in and enjoy the facilities.
Best wishes this week to the Under 8’s Luke Murphy who is recovering from a fractured bone in his ankle.
