Dublin Senior Football Championship – Anniversary Reunion & Get together for All, 19 Nov in the Clubhouse – All Welcome!
A very busy morning in Clontarf last Saturday in lovely weather too!
Adult games
There was no Junior Hurling game last Sunday as O’Tooles conceded but there is another game set for next Sunday 16th at 2.30pm in Clontarf.
The minor boys had a very close football championship game last Sunday morning losing out by a single point following a last gasp goal from the opposition. It was a good, competitive game with plenty of scoring from the teams in the final fixture of the round robin series. David Kennedy, Sam Callan and Eoghan McKay were among the best performers on the day. Next up is a minor hurling championship final on Sunday with support very welcome.
The draw for the semi final of the Intermediate Football B championship has taken place and we now have an away game v Round Towers, Lusk on Sunday 23 October at 3pm.
Support for all games is greatly appreciated by the players and management.

Under 8 Girls
The U8 girls put on a great display at home against Vincents on Sunday morning finishing with 2 wins, a draw and a very narrow loss. Particularly to the fore were two new players Taiya and Abbie. The girls are very excited about the upcoming blitz against Raheny and Lucan on Sunday morning the 23rd of October in the club where we hope to field 3 U8 teams for the first time.
Under 9s
SCOIL U9 hurlers were at home on Saturday v O’Dwyers (x 2 Wins for SUC).
Team Jp: Have to say it was the best performance from Team Jp this season with everyone playing their part. From front to back, they were excellent and defended like lions! Delighted to see there was no whinging when substitutes were selected with kids ready when called upon. Big thanks to Addi, Calvin & Jack who agreed to play for O’Dwyers as they were short players. The latter two played against Team Jp & really put the “Hurley” in to us!!
Delighted for all the girls who played for me given most played F/B game on Friday night (Eabha, Ella, Caoimhe, Sadhbh Sophie, Caterina & Aoileann) – Their attitude & work rate were suberb. They scored goals, defended well, passed ball & genuinely are all so brave!!. Charlie, Finn, Liam, Ronan & Alex Culligan all played their part with Ronan in particular clearing some vital balls! MAITH SIBH PÁISTÍ
Team Liam Ryan : Great team performance this morning. Everyone contributed from 1 to 9. Diarmuid and Tadgh very solid at the back. Great interlink play between Adam and Alan to set up a great point in the first half. Great to see Nathan & Luke back on the scoresheet again. Liam very happy with the progress that some players are making but they must continue to practice between training sessions!! (JP)
U12 Boys Football League Play Off
The Under 12 footballers take on St. Vincents next Saturday 15th October at 12.15pm in St. Vincents GAA, Malahide Road in the start of the league play-off phase. All support welcome and appreciated as the lads aim for promotion after an excellent league campaign.
Under 13 Girls
It was all Scoil this week as the under 13’s took on the under 15’s. We had a nine a side game which was fascinating as our girls took on their older counterparts. The game was non stop action all the way as the U15s supplemented by a few of ours tried to contain the younger team. It was excellent preparation for the forthcoming shield final and it seemed we will be spoiled for choice for Goalies as first Jody then Eimear and finally Meibhin took their turn between the posts
Ella arrived late but took on the opposition with gusto and Reailtin was always in action harrying her opponents. Holly showed her usual cool competence while Caoimhe and Siofra attacked strongly. Siobhan certainly didn’t look as though she had been ill all week. As usual Sadhbh showed anticipation a trait that is particularly her own. Eve took a knock but bounced back seconds later to give a super kickout. Meadhbh and Aine ran their legs off. It was a pity that some of our girls missed this opportunity to play in this exciting contest. Get well wishes to Caoimhe Mulligan and huge thanks to Tony’s girls for giving us this practise run. It was well worthwhile and very entertaining to watch. NC
