Clubhouse ‘relaunch’/ Strictly Launch night
Well, the rumours were flying in the Club over the weekend as the guessing game about the ‘Strictly’ dancers was in full flow! Well done to all the volunteers who have stepped forward to support the event while also helping to raise funds for the Club. We hear the dance training is a big attraction as it will be provided as part of the programme. All will be revealed on Saturday 23 April at our Clubhouse relaunch event which is open to all members and friends – spread the word!

The BIG PARTY Night to celebrate the Relaunch of the newly revamped Bar & Clubhouse with music craic & the launch of Strictly Scoil Dancing 2016 is approach!     Don’t miss out, put that date in your diary  – April 23rd 8.30 to late – admission FREE
Guaranteed to be a great night for all.

Lots of work is underway to make improvements to the Clubhouse and the revamp continues with painters / decorators due in shortly.  Just to remind everyone that the Clubhouse will be closed from this Sunday 17th for Revamp & reopen for the Relaunch Party on Saturday 23rd @ 8 30pm

I want to Thank all those that came down last Saturday & helped do a BIG cleanup of Clubhouse & outside? Very much appreciated, Joan,

See you all for the Party on 23rd

Team Photos
As part of the revamp we are looking for photos of any team who would like their photo put up in the Clubhouse. All under age mentors might ensure they get parental approval for the photos to go up on the walls of the Clubhouse.  Photos can be given to Joan.  Thank you!

Adult games
Two tough games for the hurlers at the weekend with the many injured players sorely missed.  Here’s hoping everyone gets back to full fitness soon.

News just in that the Ladies secured the win, in a very exciting opening league game, in the Club tonight.  Next up is a Cup game on 20 April.

We’re back to football league action next weekend for the men and we welcome Parnells to the Club on Saturday evening for the Division 2 game.  On Sunday, the second team host St Mary’s Saggart at 11am while the 3rd team travel to Belcamp for their game v Pavee.  Support for these games would be greatly appreciated.

Juveniles
A packed Club on Saturday morning as the Under 9, 10, 11 and 12 teams all played their hurling games with some great performances and wins.
Training continues every Tuesday and Wednesday in the Club from 7-8pm.

Our Club Nursery was also busy thanks to a dry but cold morning.  The Nursery takes place in the Club every Saturday from 10am and new members are always welcome.

Strictly Come Dancing!!!
We’re launching our big fun event on Saturday 23 April to coincide with the Clubhouse re-opening.  The coordinators are continuing to hold weekly meetings in the clubhouse on Thursdays from 8.45 – 9.45.  Lots of great ideas, particularly for male dancers, from the attendees – maybe you should be there????

One of the key decisions will be the selection of dancers so anybody who fancies themselves (or wants free dancing lessons!) or has suggestions get in touch ASAP.  The slots are filling up and a few very ‘interesting’ candidates are set to take part.  All ideas welcome to make this the best fundraiser and social event the Club has undertaken!

Clontarf Business Association
We were delighted to take part in the Clontarf Business Association Business & Sports Expo in Clontarf Rugby club last Thursday. Lots of local businesses were in attendance, including Nolans, Clontarf Castle, EBS, Ulster Bank, BNO accountants etc. The sports aspect of the Expo included sailing, wind surfing, rugby, cricket, soccer and GAA (Scoil Uí Chonaill). The event was opened by Richard Bruton acting Minister for Jobs Enterprise & Innovation. It was an opportunity for networking and to enjoy some tasty canapés!

Match reports / team news / player updates are always welcome – send them on anytime for inclusion in the Club news!

Congratulation to Stevo Lee who has been selected to represent Ireland in the Special Olympics World Winter games in Austria in March 2017 in Floorball.  Mum and Dad, Sean and Vera are very proud!
