Strictly Scoil Dancing!
Our Strictly Scoil – the Replay night is set for Saturday 23 July at 8pm in the Club. We will have the DVD of the event on show along with hundreds of photos. Everyone is welcome to drop in and relive the magic moments of the event.
We have also added some photos to our ‘audience album’ from the event on Facebook and which is available here.
Delighted to say we have reunited the ladies leather jacket with it’s owner.
Adult games
The adult hurlers played their Division 3 game on Sunday morning away to Erin’s Isle at the earlier time of 10.15am. This was another close encounter with the lads most unlucky to come out the wrong side of the result. The extract from the report in the Herald captures the game well:
Isles with five star display edge Scoil
Erin’s Isle cemented their mid-table position when edging a thriller with Scoil Uí Chonaill. In a high quality contest that ebbed and flowed throughout, it was the ability of the hosts to find the net that ultimately proved the difference.
The junior footballers had a tough draw in the championship quarter final against a team from a higher division. The lads put on an excellent team display to ensure a competitive and close game.
The Ladies had an overwhelming win in the Cup tonight v Ranelagh Gaels. The team have now qualified for the Cup semi final – well done Ladies!
There are football league games in the Club on Saturday (AFL2 at 6.30pm) and Sunday morning (AFL7 at 11am) – why not drop in and watch some competitive fixtures.
Support for all games is greatly appreciated by the players and management.
Juveniles
We here delighted to participate in the East Wall 4th July parade last Saturday. It was great to see the Club jerseys and flag being carried by our young members and co-ordinated by Sean (Under 8s) with support from Brian and Aideen.
Lots of activity in the Club on Saturday morning as teams continue to meet up and train. Well done to the parents and mentors for their dedication!

Volunteers Needed for Two Club Rosters
Just a reminder that we are looking for help and thanks to those who have stepped up already
An updated roster is being put in place of those who would be prepared to help out in the Bar on a Thursday night and also now and again at social events. This would be possibly once per month or less depending on volunteers.
We are also looking for people to work the Bar at functions – this will be a paid position & we are arranging full training for all interested. This may suit students
The Club is also looking to put a second roster is place to cover opening of the clubhouse occasionally in the mornings or afternoons during the week. The purpose of the second roster is to enable us to rent out the function room during the day and also to accept deliveries. If we can get enough volunteers we are hoping that everyone would only be called on about once a month. This might suit those at home during the day, students or perhaps those retired or not working at present. Every volunteer hour is precious and will be greatly appreciated.
If you can give a hand please contact Declan Hoban 087-6539943,
Eric Linnane 087-9618983 or Joan Cushen 083-8101332.

Disappointment for those who travelled to see the Dublin hurlers play Cork in the qualifiers on Saturday last in Pairc Uí Rinn. Delighted to see the Dublin minors hurlers, minor ladies and Under 21 hurlers lift Leinster championship trophies this week.
Special congratulations this week to our Senior Football Manager Declan O’Sullivan and his wife Mags on the birth of their baby daughter Aoife!
