Scoil Heads Stateside
I’m sure you’ve heard the news of Scoil’s latest venture that’s set to take the club Stateside next September!
Join us in the Stag Bar on Thursday 29th March to launch our latest fundraising initiative. We will be previewing a promotional video that shows a snapshot of our special club. This video will be used to promote the event in Chicago over the coming months.
As a Club, we have a unique and special history which is more than just a collection of GAA teams. Our recent success on and off the field, including our Strictly Event, Dressing Room/Gym project and our league promotions, ensure that we thrive on punching above our weight. We also look to our wider community where we play a role in ensuring the inclusion of sport in the lives of young people. Our recent appointment to work with Dublin Ladies GAA in supporting the Dublin North East Inner City initiative is an example of our involvement. We want to secure the future for our Club and continue to support our wider community.
Drop in, have a pint and find out how you can get involved or support this exciting new adventure for Scoil!
All Welcome!

Irish Officer Wanted
We love all things Irish in Scoil and what better way to show our grá than using our cúpla focail around the club!
We’re on the lookout for anyone with a love of Irish to take on the role of Irish Officer in the club. This role will involve helping to promote the use of Irish language and culture in the club.
Each Club is required in have an Irish language and Culture officer, in accordance with rule 7.2 of the Club constitution. The main role of the Irish Language and Culture Officer is to promote the use of the Irish language and to promote cultural activities such as Irish music and dancing in the Club. The Culture & Language Officer position should be filled by someone who has a good working knowledge of the Irish language.
The officer should provide a back-up service in the use of Gaeilge for all Officers and Members and encourage and promote the use of Irish phrases in the clubs business. Cultural activities should be organised through the very popular GAA Scór competition. This is also a great way of including more people in the Club. He/she should also liaise closely with the County Irish Officer and any relevant Committee and with other Irish/cultural organisations in the area.
For more information on this see the chapter on ‘Culture and Heritage in the GAA’.
The Irish Officer would be involved in organising events such as a ceilí night, tráth na gceist, Irish language night, Pop Up Gaeltacht and Scór. Plenty of support will be given from the club to anyone who wishes to take on this role. If you or anyone you know might be interested in this role, please send an email to scoil.pro.eoc@gmail.com.
Garda Vetting
If you are a mentor or help out with teams in any capacity within the cub, you must be Garda Vetted through the club. Contact our Child Protection Officer, Aideen if you have any queries or need to complete the vetting process.

UNDER 14 HURLING
v O’Tooles 17/3/2018
Scoil 1:4 O’Tooles 0:3
Scoil had their first match of 2018 in Hurling last Saturday. It was a close match first half with only 2 scores in total however after half time Scoil came out fighting and dominated large portions of the second half aided by a strong wind. Some fine points from Jack and a goal from Thomas was enough to earn the win. Scoil remain unbeaten this year in football and hurling. Well done to all.
