Senior Hurlers Into Leinster

The magical season for our Senior Hurlers marches on following a fantastic win over Round Towers Clondalkin on Sunday. The lads will now represent Dublin in the Leinster Intermediate Championship on the 2/3 of November. Date/time of match TBC. The following report comes from dublingaa.ie:

Scoil Uí Chonaill will represent Dublin in the Leinster Club IHC following their 0-20 to 3-9 victory over Round Tower, Clondalkin in Sunday’s play-off in Parnell Park.

Scoil, the Dublin SHC ‘B’ champions of this year, came with a storming finish to edge out the Clondalkin outfit, Dublin’s IHC winners, to set up a meeting with Wicklow’s senior champions, Bray Emmet’s, in two weekends time.

Round Tower Clondalkin led 3-9 to 0-14 with five minutes of normal time remaining but they failed to score again as Scoil hit six points without reply.

Points from Joey Ryan, Robert Kennedy (free) and Ruairí Coady brought the sides level as the game moved into added time with David Kennedy and Barry Cushen ensuring victory in injury-time.

Tower’s led 2-3 to 0-6 at half-time with their first goal coming in the eighth minute when a long delivery into the danger area from Jack Whelan ended up in the net, their second arrived in the 29th minute when Barry Finn fired to the Scoil net from close range.

The opening exchanges in the second half were evenly balanced but Eric Finn’s goal in the 43rd minute which was followed by two points saw the Clondalkin men lead 3-7 to 0-11 with 15 minutes to go.

However, Tower’s managed just one further point as Scoil took charge and their scoring surge at the finish brought them to victory.

Robert Kennedy was Scoil’s top marksman with 0-9 (0-5f) while Barry Cushen hit 0-5 from play.

UP SCOIL!

U12 Do the Double!

The following report comes from JP Courtney about the U12 team and their amazing achievement over the weekend.

@ScoilCLG U12’s Football Match Report:
St Judes (1-3) v Scoil (2-11).

U12 DIV 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHAMPS!

Final football game of the season away to our nearest rivals and it’s fair to say the lads didn’t let us down despite their obvious nerves.

It must be said, despite the poor conditions and slippy mud bath of a pitch, our lads held their shape/composure and in the battle of best defence v best offence in the league, Scoil defence proved the stronger as well as sharper forward line.
Despite some fantastic scores today from likes of Adam, Addi & Conal & co, everyone just had to admire the work rate of Luke (goal) / Diarmuid + Fahad (full backs) / Nathan, Oran & Fionn (Half Backs) – They were all fantastic but standout, once again had to be Fahad (very proud mum Habiba willing him on).

A very long season on the football front and extremely proud of each and everyone of our lads – especially those lads who didn’t see any action today, as they knew this league wasn’t won today but over course of season with every kid playing their part.

Take a bow Lads
U12 – Division 4 League Footall Champions
U12 – Division 6 League Hurling champions

Myself, Liam & Ronan are so proud of you all.
Maith SIBH Páistí.
