Adult games
Just back from the Senior Football league game in Sean Moore Park. Unfortunately we lost out by 3 points in this final league fixture which means we miss the promotion play offs by a point. The lads showed great character to get back from 12 points down in the second half to just two with a goal chance blocked to almost win the game. Plenty to work on for the 2017 season but great that we have secured Division 2 status and almost made the playoffs for promotion to division one. Special mention for the great support on the sideline tonight too.
We now have the Intermediate B Football Championship final to look forward to and the game v Garda is fixed for next Sunday 6 November at 3pm in St Margarets.
Support for all games is greatly appreciated by the players and management.
Juveniles
Nursery
There was plenty of fun at the Nursery on Saturday morning as our coaches were happy to keep our youngest members busy over the bank holiday weekend. It was great to see the support of the Under 16 Girls for the Nursery with 9 of the team on hand to pass on their skills and enthusiasm for gaelic games.
Many questions remain unanswered at Scoil Nursery
Can you assist with our enquiries? If so, come to the legendary, fun filled, table quiz on Friday 18th November in the clubhouse from 20:00.
Entry fee for a team of 4 is €40 and there’s a range of fantastic prizes to be won. Please bring along friends and family to support your club.
Under 9s
Great morning down at Scoil Ui Chonaill with U9’s. Full blooded match between U9 kids & couple of guest players also (Matthew U8’s & Cork Ronan). Hard to believe we are approaching end of season (one match to go) also. At end of today’s training game, U9 kids only, were presented with brand new Scoil embroidered Socks & Hurley. Just rewards for their efforts all season. All in all another successful year from a great bunch of kids. FYI – FOR those U9 kids missing, don’t worry we haven’t forgotten you!.
With New Season (2017) on the horizon, I would actively encourage both parents and kids to seek out any new potential players for the Team/Panel, given U9 Girls will be moving over to the Girls section with Aidan Mulligan in the new year. Given the Girls played together most of the season, myself & Liam Ryan have absolutely no doubt they’ll be the most formidable All Girls Team in 2017 & will be sadly missed by U9 Mentors & Boys in equal measure. Our loss is definitely Aidan, Mark & Grainne’s gain. Our next U9 football match is at home to St Finbarrs (time to be confirmed). UP SCOIL! (JP)
