Adult games
The Division 2 football league scheduled for last Saturday evening did not go ahead as Templeogue exercised their right to have the game postponed due to the involvement of Denis Bastick and Eoghan O’Gara in the Dublin Senior Football team. The game will be refixed for a later date.
The second team lost out in their game in the league on Sunday morning.
The ladies team lost out to a very strong and tough Naomh Barrog team in the semi final of the Cup tonight. Barrog took the lead with a strong wind in the first half but the girls showed great resilience and kept going to the final whistle with some excellent scores in the second half. Hard luck girls.
Adult hurling league games are set for this weekend on both Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Keep an eye on Facebook / Twitter in case of any late changes.
Support for all games is greatly appreciated by the players and management.

Nursery parents’ information session (Sat 10th)
Following last Saturday’s washout , the nursery returns this Saturday (10th Sept). A short parents’ information session (15 mins or less) will be held in the clubhouse at 10:15 sharp. As we will be laying out the Nursery plans for the year ahead and discussing important organisational changes, we hope that as many parents as possible can attend. (JK)
Under 9s
SCOIL Ui Chonaill U9’s Footballers were away to St Maurs GAA in Rush this morning. To say the weather was “biblical” would be an understatement! Much more than the results which both went our way this morning (well done to all) was the number of kids & parents who travelled to north Dublin to play and support! I was particularly pleased with the attitude of Raphael, Finn & Adam who agreed to play for Maurs, so no one was standing about in freezing rain – That’s what GAA is about!! Finally a big thank you Maria Gallagher & St Maurs for the goodies afterwards. UP SCOIL.. (JP)
Under 12 boys
A great win for the boys on Saturday last v O’Tooles in some pretty awful conditions. The team worked from the first whistle and played some great football with lots of skill and determination.
Under 13 girls
This is a game everyone wants to forget. Most of them were back from their holidays so we had plenty of players. The girls took on St. Pat’s in torrential rain and from the very start they were beaten to almost every ball by a bigger, fitter North County Dublin side. The referee also made the point that girls must wear glasses with plastic lens and plastic frames otherwise they could not play. You might think that such a beating would affect the girls spirits but it was great to see them back again on Tuesday and having a great training session with the under fifteen girls. We want that spirit on Saturday when we take on Na Fianna at home at 4.30pm in the club girls please. (NC)
Minor Hurling
A very strong performance in the minor championship on Sunday morning in Glenalbyn. The combined Scoil / Clanna Gael Fontenoy team were on top from the start and played some very skillful hurling to seal the win. Great to see all of the full forward line on the score sheet in the first half with David McGauran, Odhran Lowry and Aaron all converting their opportunities. A very important contribution from Robert Kennedy who added 2-4 from play along with Daragh Levins with some well taken frees from around the pitch. Football championship starts next Sunday with a trip to Naomh Olaf.

Dublin Ladies v Cork
We now have a second All Ireland final to look forward to v Cork on 25th September in Croke Park. This should be a great game and you can see the ‘promo’ from the Dublin Ladies here.
Tipperary football star Brian Fox was in the club on Sunday morning to support his cousin Eoin Kennedy playing for Scoil in the AFL 7 match. Brian also met Killian, Ciaran and our under 15s.
New Contributors always WELCOME. Match reports / team news / player updates are always welcome – send them on anytime for inclusion in the Club news!
Special mention this week for Joanne Cahill from Tipperary who lined out for the Ladies Footballers as always this evening despite celebrating a great win for her brother Michael’s team on Sunday in Croke Park.
Nice to see the Maher Brothers, recent recruits to the Club following their Dad Paul’s appearance in Strictly Scoil. Conor has made a big impression with the Under 9s and scored a hat trick of goals in his first hurling game while Daragh scored a cracking goal in his first game for the Under 12s. Well done!
Don’t forget the Clubhouse is open every Thursday night from 9pm. Drop in enjoy a drink, chat and even a game of snooker. All welcome!
