Adult games
Football cup games have commenced and we are set to play Clanna Gael on Monday evening in Sean Moore Park, Ringsend. Football league fixtures are due to commence on 28th February.
Juveniles
Great performances by all teams last weekend with special mention for the Under 8s who played their first competitive game. Team of the week are the Under 12s who secured a win in their game close followed by the Under 11s with both teams competing strongly to win their games.
Under 9s St Brigids v Scoil Uí Chonaill
Thanks to JP for his summary: First day of Scoil Ui Chonaill U9’s Football Season (minus a couple of players due to traffic/illness etc….).
Great show today against our hosts Brigids GAA. Some lovely skill points on show for both teams. Huge thanks to the four Scoil kids who volunteered to play for the opposition (as they were short players) & gave it their all! Well done to our new players Finn &:Alex Kelly on their debuts
Under 13 Girls
Our girls have their first game of 2016 on the 27th February at 4p.m. in Howth. In the meantime they are training hard every Tuesday in the club. Some of them are also doing some extra training because we are helping out the Feile team by giving them some additional numbers. We have moved to ‘What’s App’ for communication purposes and hope that this will suit all our parents. Our thoughts and best wishes are with Caoimhe Keoghane’s dad Peter who is ill in hospital. Here’s to a great season with a great bunch of girls.
Under 15 football Scoil Uí Chonaill 4-4 St Catherine’s 3-7
A very close game in the Club on Sunday morning as the two teams battled in some very difficult conditions. A well deserved draw for the lads although it was a very tense finish for the parents and mentors!
Nursery
Our Nursery is a busy spot every Saturday morning with games and skill development from 10am – all are welcome. Don’t forget the Clubhouse is open and a warm welcome awaits with tea and coffee available upstairs while you can still keep any eye on the action on the pitch.
National GAA Club Draw – Giant Club Fundraiser
A big thank you to everyone who supported the draw in any way through buying, selling or organising tickets during the past few weeks. All returns for Dublin clubs must be submitted today to be included in the draw which takes place on 11th March. Let’s hope we have a winner!
Visit of Sam Maguire / All Ireland Ladies Club Trophy
We’re hosting a visiting of the trophies on Saturday 12 March between 4 and 6pm. Everyone is welcome to drop in and have some photos taken with the trophies. The festivities will continue with a ‘Party Night’ from 6pm. All are welcome!
Dublin
Well done to the Dublin Ladies who had a big win over Monaghan last Sunday (sorry Joanne!). Not such a good performance from the Dublin hurlers last Saturday – let’s hope there is an improvement in their game v Galway in Parnell Park on Saturday evening.
Kick for Kolkata
We were delighted to welcome the ‘Kick for Kolkata’ team, including Kevin O’Riordan and Babs Keating, to the Club on Sunday morning as they continue their journey around Ireland raising funds for street children in India. The Under 15s were very impressed with the concept of kicking a point in every club in Ireland with Kevin asked if he had every missed a chance to score!
