Two wins from two games in the adult hurling leagues at the weekend – great stuff!

Adult games

A big win in the Division 4 league game on Saturday v Faughs with a final score of 3-22 to 0-6.  This was a strong win on a lovely evening in the Club with plenty of Scoil scores to entertain the support.  Excellent performances from Sean Kirwan, Alan Cronin and Andy Bunyan ably supported by the full squad.  Special mention for Michael McCluskey who added some extra skill to the forward line with some well taken points.  All to play for in the league as we push for promotion to Division 3.

The 2nd team are also in the run in to a promotion play off game following their win over Realt Dearg in Drimnagh Castle on Sunday afternoon.  Superb skill on show from Chris Devine who scored 2-3 in this game to ensure the win.

There are football league fixtures next weekend, starting with a home game on Saturday evening v Clontarf at 5.30pm in Division 2.  Then on Sunday, the 2nd team head to Silver Park where they play Kilmacud Crokes in the Division 8 league.  Support welcome for all games!

Keep an eye on Facebook / Twitter for updates on fixtures.

Juveniles

Nursery / Naoinra – update 30 Sep

On Saturday, we hosted Ballymun Setanta U7 hurlers for an enjoyable fun blitz. This was the second instalment of an autumn match series, designed to challenge and develop the older players in a slightly more competitive environment. So far, it has been an outstanding success with the encouragement and support of parents and well-wishers on the side-line being tremendously motivating for players and volunteers alike.

The final match in the series takes place on Sat 3 Oct with our U7 hurlers playing away to Whitehall Colmcille. Parents are asked to text Joanne by Thursday 1st Oct to confirm player availability. Our younger players will have football and hurling training as usual at the club at 10:00.

Under 8s

JP – “Tough as Teak” U8’s entertained Erin go Bragh GAA on Sat morning and didn’t disappoint (x4 played x4 wins). With the sun beating down, the kids put on some show with hat tricks galore on display!! (Alan/Alex/Caoimhe/Fionn & Adam Ryan who managed to bag x3 hat tricks – The Terminator! !)- Delighted for young Sadhbh who scored her first hurling goal today also (Good Limerick stock coming through from her mum Scoil Neasáin Brid & Tadgh who scored us a point today also. ..

From Team Liam/Jp perspective the kids were brilliant and all worked extremely hard for each other. What was very pleasing was the compliments from the opposition coaches/parents in relation to our Scoil kids. WELL PLAYED / Credit to the Club (despite young Alan Murphy saying I shout too much….I sense new football keeper coming lol)

Team 2 Under 8 – Scoil played some good hurling with highlight of the day the first goals of Caoimhe Daly’s career..proud dad Dave’s celebration was a joy to watch as he ran on and gave Caoimhe a high five…great moment. Caterina gave 110% as always while Aoileann cleared some great balls with Diarmuid solid throughout. Alex battled hard and Rafa was all over the pitch. Fionn got two cracking goals from distance while Alan finished the day with nine goals. The club was in fantastic condition this morning and all credit to Peter.

Under 14 Boys Garristown 4-07 Scoil Uí Chonaill 5-08

A great win for the Under 14 footballers on Saturday on their trip to Garristown.  Winning comfortably at half time, the lads relaxed a bit in the second half to give their management team of Killian, Ciaran and Neil some concern but pulled through in the end.  The win ensures that the final game in the league on Saturday 10th October will be the deciding one.  Support would be very welcome for this game and the team deserve great credit for their performances throughout the season.  Well done to all the Players, Management and Parents!

Dublin Ladies

There was a great Scoil support in Croke Park on Sunday for the Dublin v Cork All Ireland Final.  Lots of teams were in attendance to enjoy the game and get behind the Girls in Blue.  Unfortunately, the Dubs were unable to overcome the Cork defence despite their best efforts.  It was great to know that the event set a record for attendance for a Ladies game.  As a result of the Dublin game there were no girls fixtures over the weekend.

Club Shop

The Club shop is open every Saturday between 10am and 12noon.  The shop has a great stock of club gear as well as lots of GAA accessories.  Prices are very competitive as we endeavour to provide value for Members.
