Adult games
The first game in the Division 2 league went ahead on Sunday, with a game against Castleknock in Clontarf. The game was played in very difficult conditions but the standard remained high and showed the level required in this division. Castleknock were very efficient making the most of their chances. We had some good spells and were very unlucky not to get a goal with a missed penalty and another shot that hit the upright. Overall, a positive start against one of the quality sides in the Division with room for improvement.
Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions the following two junior games were called off as the referee declared the pitch unplayable. The next round of adult football league fixtures, all away, are scheduled for Sunday 8th March.

Under 9s
A massive start to the season for Scoil Uí Chonaill U9s vs Tyrellstown winning 9 goals & 1 point to 1 point! The new management team obviously having a huge impact. Welld one Ross and Wayne.
Under 8s
This week’s update from JP ‘U8’s 100% unbeaten run continues with superb performance by all the players this morning against Raheny GAA.
Liam Ryan had them fired up and raring to go (as Jp was tired & emotional from all the birthday celebrations) on what was an absolutely freezing morning. Despite being a late wake up call Alex C combined well with Adam R for the opening goal – Thank God. Highlight of the morning though reserved for Niall’s super puck out to Adam in midfield, who hit it on the volley to score & break Raheny’s hearts.’
Under 14 Football St Sylvesters 3-3 Scoil Uí Chonaill 4-11
Full points from three games for the Under 14s as they make a very positive start to the league. Some great team work and excellent finishing in this game with everyone playing their part in some heavy showers in Malahide on Saturday afternoon.
Under 12 girls report 21-2-2015
The weather won this game. Because we were hit with a spate of winter coughs and colds only eleven girls braved the elements for a challenge game against Fingal Ravens. Siofra Malone actually made it to the sideline before giving in to the dreaded bug. For the first half you could only say that the poor girls were actually frozen to the spot and a dreadful sleet shower only increased their misery. In fact the ever reliable Jody had to leave the pitch because her fingers were so frostbitten she was unable to hold a ball. The breed them tough out in Fingal though and the opposition did not seem to be affected as they slammed point after point which were far above the reach of Eimear in goal. In the second half Scoil started moving a bit better and managed to start getting a good number of goals which helped to substantially reduce Fingal’s lead. Sadhbh Murphy must have got some secret Kerry lore from her dad because she stormed into play in the second half. Newcomer Meadhbh was a joy to watch as she scored for Scoil in her first appearance. Eve is always reliable wherever position she plays and proved to be a solid goalkeeper in the second half. Reailtín was determined not to let anyone of the opposition have her ball and Ellie made some good catches. Meibhín showed some of the skills she had learnt in training. Holly, as usual used her height to advantage but our other high catcher Kellyann was obviously struggling with the aftermath of flu. Sadhbh Ni Philibin did her best against very strong opposition. Overall though it was definitely a case of lots done but lots more to do though the goal difference was only 9 to our 7 at game’s end. The rule for girls not wearing long leggings in such conditions is ridiculous in the Irish climate because who could blame them for being miserable as their legs turned purple? Whatever about the girls their parents were all praying that the referee would just blow that whistle and let us go home. Next Sunday we begin playing official games. We are praying for a fine sunny day, a full squad and an exhibition of all the girls have learnt at training.

Under 16 Scoil 4-6 St Patricks, Donabate 1-6
A good performance by the Under 16s in their league game v Donabate in Clontarf on Saturday afternoon. Delayed for 30 minutes as we waited for a referee meant the 2nd half was played in some very heavy rain. A welcome return to the field of play for Conor Farrelly following a long term injury and a trip straight from the airport by Daragh Foley was appreciated by mentors Colm and Ciarán. Some excellent saves by the Donabate keeper kept them in the game in the first half but goals from Patrick and Jordan including a converted penalty saw Scoil pull away in the 2nd half. Great team work from all on the field especially Sam, Odhran, Tomás and David helped to ensure the win.
Under 16 Hurling
Best wishes to the Under 16 hurlers, the combined Scoil Uí Chonaill / Clanna Gael Fontenoy team who have had some great success in the past two years and have achieved Division 1 status for 2015. The team have trained consistently as a group and their achievement of Division 1 status shows the opportunity and potential that can result from such for playing on a combined basis. The first game is scheduled for Saturday next 28th Feb v Na Fianna in Collinstown.
