National Club Draw
Support YOUR Club. The GAA National Draw is upon us again and last year it was the biggest single source of revenue to the Club. Our Club was the best performer in Leinster which is a fantastic achievement for our size. Scoil keeps ALL the money from our ticket sales so every ticket sold counts.
Tickets have been distributed through the teams’ mentors and are available also to supporters, friends and non-playing members who played a big part in last year’s successful drive.
Please contact John Coady 087 2483182 or Dominic Morgan 087 6579300 for more information / tickets if you have yet to receive an allocation.
We also need to get sold tickets back to Dominic as soon as possible as the timelines set by the GAA are very tight. They can be dropped into the Clubhouse on Thursday / Saturday or given to mentors / executive members.
Go raibh maith agat.

Girls Minor Football Team
The girls minor football football team commenced their pre season training on Sunday morning last, a cold and windy morning in Clontarf. There was a great turnout and great enthusiasm was shown by all the girls, particularly the younger players who have just joined the panel. Another big crowd turned up on Tuesday night for the first indoor training session in the Marino College hall on Griffith Avenue.
The minor team will train indoors on Tuesday night with the ladies team and will have their own session on Sunday mornings in Scoil. The league is expected to start in early March.
Helping hands – Juveniles
The new combined training session for Under 8 to Under 11 children started on Saturday with a strong emphasis on skills and fun. (Games are due to start next month.) 70 young players took part on Saturday and also trained on Tuesday evening in the Club.
A lot of preparation has gone into ensuring these sessions will give our young players the best chance of learning the skills of the game. After the warm up, eight stations (with different skills) are in place for the boys and girls to learn the skills of the game in our safe enclosed grounds coached by some excellent people who have played at the highest level. The coaches can always use some assistance so if you are a current player (hurling or football), played the game previously or coached teams in the past, please come along and help pass on your knowledge to our future stars. One hour a week would be greatly appreciated. Please support your club.
Update from Coaches
Despite the wind & rain and people thinking the coaches are all mad……over 40 kids down at Scoil UiChonaill football training this evening (alongside the senior team!).
Have to say the level of enthusiasm shown by those kids present was just brilliant and should stand to them come match time!- Scoil kids are “TOUGH AS TEAK”
Don’t forget hurling training for U8-U11 this Saturday at 10am ….
— feeling proud. (JP)
Best wishes to everyone sitting College exams this week.
