Senior Hurlers Start Strongly
Senior hurlers made it two from two in AHL2 this past Sunday, battling past St. Sylvester’s. A great team performance saw the hurlers come out as victors with a scoreline of 2-19 to 0-14. The scoreline seems rather flattering for the opposition team, as only 5 points were scored from play.
Scoil battled against a strong wind in the first half, with forwards Jason Redmond and Robbie Kennedy getting important scores as Sylvester’s kept in touch with frees. The moment of the first half came from Andy Bunyan, as he forgot he was playing hurling and scored a goal with a cultured right foot finish into the bottom corner. “I gave the keeper the eyes.” Nice one Andy.
The second half saw Scoil take control, with important scores from Shane Sheridan and Joey Ryan keeping the scoreboard rising. Barry Cushen sent in a sideline cut which Shane Sheridan doubled on to grab Scoil’s second goal of the game.
The result leaves us unbeaten after two games in the league, with Thomas Davis up next on the 22nd of March, followed by Craobh Chiarain in the Senior A Championship on the 31st of March.

Help Ronan Make a Difference
Our juvenile officer Ronan Murphy is spending ‘A Day in My Wheels’ in support of people living with a spinal cord injury (SCI). He will experience a first-hand glimpse of the challenges faced by wheelchair users daily while raising both awareness and funds for those who really need it. Any support would be hugely appreciated!

Team News
U16’s:
Scoil 4-12 Templeogue Synge Street 6-3
On a fine day at Alfie Byrne Road the lads took on a strong TSS team.
Team started well but conceded a couple of early goals.
Thanks to some outstanding interplay and nice scores we led by 3 at the break. Some lovely points from Sean Eoin and Rian Max and Caleb and poachers goals from Max and Cameron gave the team this slight edge.
Against the wind in the Second half we scored 2 goals from excellent strikes from Darragh and Rian which gave us a 9 point gap.
This was dragged back to 3 points with 10 minutes left but throughout we had tagged on nice points including one from Cathal after running 70 metres following an interception.
Lee also scored a beautiful point.Sean took some excellent frees.
We really stood up to the test in the second half.
The midfield of Eoin and Caleb were brilliant throughout and our half back line of Conor D, Lee and Cathal were outstanding. Our half forwards of Cameron Max and Sean were energetic and clever in possession
Cathal M, Nikhail and Thomas and Conor I stood up manfully to the pressure working hard throughout making important interceptions with Rory in goal fantastic. Thomas Darragh and Rian held up the ball in the second half superbly when a rest was badly required.
The teamwork throughout was a joy to behold and everyone played their part in a much needed win.
U13’s:
Skerries(3-11) v Scoil (1-4)
Afternoon trip away to Skerries Ballast Pit.
Unfortunately it wasn’t our day today, as we were comprehensively beaten by a team who adapted better to the winds and out ran/ out fought us.
In truth we never really going the first half and left too big a gap to close second half despite super goal from Adam R early 2nd half.
Only a handful of kids pushed themselves today and result will be hurting them more.
In truth, if it wasn’t for Luke M in goal, result would have been far less pretty (thanks Luke).
We roll the sleeves up and go again & hopefully the lads and coaches will learn from today.
Fair play to Skerries Lads and no doubt we can learn a thing or two from them today.
Positive though the likes of James, Alex Cahill & Tadhg continued to get more game time and great to see Charlie back in the fold also.
Hopefully Conall is ok as he took bad knock ( hopefully not another long term injury as we are taking a beating on that front).
See you all Monday.
Regards Jp / Liam / Ronan
U12 Camogie:
The U12 girls played Westmanstown Gaels at the weekend in the first camogie blitz of the year in Trinity Gaels GAA club. Two very physical games against strong opposition and the girls met the challenge head on. This was a real team effort with good communication and great skills shown by the girls. There was some really solid defending, great battling in midfield and some very good scores from play. Well done to all the girls.
U8’s:
Our U8s eventually started the season against Castleknock following a failed start due to Storm Ciara. Our teams did great winning 3 out of 4 of their hurling games. Team Shane won both games. The team had one Castleknock player playing with them what seemed to be their strong team. The second game was played with one less player. The kids showed great determination and skill.
Team Ruairi won one and loss one game. The kids were brilliant in the first game and couldn´t stop scoring. The second game was tougher as Castleknock had some strong players and scored freely however our keeper did make some great saves to keep us in the game. Our boys tired toward the end…..some more laps in training will be needed……
The following week we were due to play Raheny in hurling however they had to cancel. Wild Geese agreed to play instead. Both teams won all their games
Team Ruairi and Shane-Elaine
Once again the boys really showed their determination and every single kid played their part in getting a result for both teams. The hard winter training and Gormanston is paying off. Well done all.
This week we have our first football match against St Peregrines at home in Scoil. We look forward to the home support on the sidelines.
