Adult games
The intermediates welcome St Marks to Clontarf on Saturday evening for an important Division 3 game.
Busy morning for fixtures on Sunday 7th:
The Juniors play Portobello in Clontarf at 10.30am while the minors play their first hurling championship game. Support is very welcome for this important game.
Nursery / Naoinra
The Scoil Naoinra / Nursery is back in action with the Coaches ready to have some fun with existing and new Members. We’re delighted with our partnership with Nolans’ Supermarket and you might notice the new signage at the Nursery meeting place. Don’t forget to spread the word about our enclosed grounds, qualified coaches and on-site facilities where parents can stay close to the young players while also enjoying tea / coffee. Check out more details at the new website at: http://www.scoilgaa.com/kids-welcome/
Boot Bank
As always, the boots donated to the boot bank were in great demand on Saturday last as the summer growth spurt resulted in lots of ‘they’re too small’. Don’t forget if you have any boots in good condition that no longer fit please drop them into the Clubhouse or Dressing Room. They will be recycled and put to great use by members.
Juvenile Games
Under 15 Hurling B Championship
The Hurling Championship semi final v Raheny is set for next Sunday 7th September in St Annes 1. Several of the panel, including Daragh Levins, Eoin McKay and Robert Kennedy are part of the Dublin Under 15 Development Squad and the whole team have worked exceptionally hard throughout the year winning all their league games so far. Your support would be greatly appreciated for this game if you are around St Annes No. 1 on Sunday morning.
Girls football – recent results
Under 15 championship – Cuala A 0-6 Scoil Uí Chonaill 3-6
Under 14 A Championship – Scoil Uí Chonaill 5-5 Na Fianna A 3-9
Two great results in the championships in the past few days against some of the biggest Clubs in Dublin! Well done to the players, management and parents and best wishes for the next round.
All Ireland Football Minor and Senior Semi Finals Dublin v Donegal
Another day full of hope of expectation on Sunday but unfortunately both teams were knocked out at semi final stage. There was plenty of post match analysis in the Club on Sunday as the tactics of Donegal were dissected and admired (eventually). Thanks to Matt for look after the bar and Susan on the BBQ. Roll on 2015!
Dublin Ladies
Well done to the Dublin Ladies who beat Galway last Saturday and have qualified for the All Ireland Final in Croke Park on Sunday 28th September.
All Ireland Hurling Final
The Club has received a small number of tickets for the All Ireland Hurling Final on Sunday next. A draw for the tickets will take place on Thursday evening c 10pm in the Clubhouse and all paid up adult members are eligible to take part. Best of luck and best wishes to the supporters of both Tipperary and Kilkenny. Special mention for adult ladies footballer Joanne Cahill, who’s brother Michael is part of the Tipperary team!
Brendan Mc Loughlin.
We note the passing of Brendan McLoughlin recently deceased. Brendan played with the Club in the sixties and was a sub on the senior football championship team that lost to Clanna Gael in the ’68 final. He won minor and under 21 championships with Scoil and his brothers Frank and John also played with Scoil, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Scoil teams playing in Championship fixtures at the weekend!
