We march on into April now with the seasons well and truly under way. With the worst of the weather behind us (we hope), the evening starting to stretch, and the pitch getting ever-closer to being playable, here’s everything Scoil from the month of March!
Club Draw:

Firstly a huge thank you to all club members for the work that was put in to sell tickets for the GAA club draw. Although no prizes were won by club members, we as a club contributed €13,000 in tickets sales, very impressive for a club our size! For all the hard work put in by sellers, mentors, and coaches, Chairman Matt Cushen gives his sincerest thanks. After his impassioned speech at the Dinner and Awards Night this year hit home, this amount is hugely beneficial to the club in allowing us some financial freedom to develop the ground and games as we see fit.
Thank you all!
Membership Fees:

Reminder that Membership Fee’s are now Overdue. With changes to the GAA fee system regarding registration and insurance, it is vital for all playing members to get their membership as soon as possible. For any queries regarding registration contact Aideen Lawlor at sucregistrar@gmail.com.
Ladies Quiz night:

A big well done to our ladies team who organised a very successful quiz night on the 19th of the month. Scoil was buzzing with a packed out clubhouse on a Thursday night that saw Ben McDermott rise to the occasion as the special guest host. With a full house attending the stakes were high and after some great performances and controversy, we found our winners!
Congratulations to the winning team “When is the Pitch Ready”

Main Pitch Remains Closed:

Our main pitch remains closed for the time being dues to upgrades.
We would just like to take a moment to thank the coaches and the executive for their tireless work on working around this closure. With the weather conditions causing havoc to fixtures and pitches the work that has gone in behind the scenes to keep games going where and whenever it’s possible has been immense. With spring (hopefully) here to stay, we can get settled into using our pitches in Fairview and St. Anne’s on the regular!
Late Player of the year awards:

Well done to Jimmy Oliver AFL11 and Sean O’Connor AHL10 who were presented their Player of the Year Awards from 2025 during the month by club chairman Matt Cushen. Sean O’Connor was presented with his Junior Hurler of the year award, while Jimmy Oliver was given his AFL11 Player of the Year Award. Great to see both back out and ready to work hard at defending their awards!
Ladies Second Team Players:

Our ladies second team are looking for new players to join! Playing at division 9, this team would be perfect for someone looking to develop and learn skills in Gaelic football, join a social group, or simply to get active! If you know of anyone looking for a team to join, whether they’re new to the game or looking to get back into it, they can contact John Farrelly: 0864048011 or send an email to scoil.pro.eoc@gmail.com.
Teams on the Go:

Our u16 squad who have started their campaign in both hurling and football this season. A tough group that overcame the adversity of only having a 13 man panel and held their own against a Plunkett’s side in the Phoenix Park at the weekend.

The junior hurlers have come out swinging, recording 3 wins from 3. Wins in tough conditions against St. Finnians (Swords) and Fingallians away, and a tight home win against Castleknock where every ball was contested to the fullest (see above), AFL7 junior team also remain unbeaten with two hard fought draws, while the AFL11 squad has only played one game, a defeat away to St.Pat’s of Donabate.
The AHL3 squad has had a mixed start with one win and two defeats to start the seasons, taking the opener away to Whitehall before defeats to Bray Emmets at Alfie Byrne and away to Crumlin. The AFL2 panel started the year with two defeats before a statement win in the last game, beating Kilmacud Crokes 2-17 to 0-6 away in a massive lift at this early stage of the year.
We would also like to send a number of the adult men’s players best wishes in recovering from injuries. To Joey Ryan, Barry Cushen, Conor Coady, Eoghan McKay, Paddy Gerathy heal up quick!

Congratulations goes to the entire Kennedy family, a constant fixture and great influence in the club, well done to all!
