Scoil Ui Chonaill
2025 is a special year for the club, celebrating our 75th anniversary in Dublin GAA. An incredible achievement for our special club. Lots of events planned throughout the year to celebrate this milestone.
Club Book – Scoil Ui Chonaill Celebrating 75 Years….coming soon
Awards Night
Special thanks to Club Person of the Year, Sandra Curtin for organising our Awards night. Over two hundred members and friends will attend on the night. Sandra is asking everyone to be in Clontarf Castle for 7pm (not 7.30!).
Next Saturday night at our Awards night and Dinner, the Greg Bauer ‘Young Male Player of the Year’ trophy will be presented. Greg Bauer (RIP) was a pupil of O’Connells School and soon became involved in the Club playing Gaelic football and hurling. Greg captained many teams he played for. He also wore the 💙 of Dublin. Greg was a fully committed player who gave 100% in every game for Club and county. Greg’s brother Ciaran played for the Club for many years. Greg sadly got seriously ill and passed away at 20 years of age. As a tribute to his memory and the Club he loved so much, the Bauer family donated the Greg Bauer ‘Young male player of the year’ trophy. Pictured in the second photo is last year’s recipient of the award, Riain Farrell, with Ciaran Bauer, at the 2024 Award’s Night ❤️💛💙
The Jim Maher Young Ladies Player of the Year will be presented on the night. Jim Maher (RIP) was very active in the club in the early years. Jim managed many successful underage teams in the club and was Minor Mentor over a long number of years. Jim managed the clubs famous Minor Football championship winning sides to a three in a row, 1962-1964, a remarkable achievement.
Gone but never forgotten, Jim’s memory lives on with the Young Female Player of the Year award.

Hurl Appeal
One of our members is looking to see if you can help with finding a hurl that was recycled in the club a number of years ago. The surname Delaney, would have been written on it with marker pen. The hurl is of sentimental value to the family, please contact 086 361 9200.

Senior Football Debut
Congratulations to Minor Footballer, Conor Maher who made his Senior Football debut last Sunday out in The Naul against Clann Mhuire. Conor hit the back of the net to make it a debut to remember in a good win in their first challenge match. A very proud Dad was watching on.
Minor Footballers new Rules
Well known, Dublin referee, Danny Harrington came down to the club to go through the 47 rule changes that came into Gaelic football. Special thanks to Danny for taking the time to explain the rules and answer the lads questions. The Minors had their first outing under the new rules against Naomh Fionnbarra last Sunday in the excellent Broombridge TU All Weather facility. The lads adjusted well to the new rules and four lads made their Minor debuts. A strong second half display gave the lads a comprehensive win.
Sarah makes Dubs Debut
Congrats to Sarah Harnett who made her Dublin Under 14 debut against Monaghan last weekend in Abbotstown. Sarah pictured with Dublin Under 14 Mentor, our very own club stalwart, Alex Chapman.
