Summer Camps
Thomas and his team of coaches have been very busy over the last number of weeks with the various club camps.
We are onto our 4th and final camp in just over 2 weeks time. To date, we had a Club Camp, an Advanced Camp and a NEIC/Scoil Cúl Camp.
At our First Summer 2022 Club Camp, there was just over 90 kids in attendance. Thankfully, the weather cooperated for the week (although it was humid) and ensured the kids all had great fun whilst improving their skills each day. The coaches decided to skip the water balloons on Friday, much to the disappointment of all of the kids but it was soon forgotten.. Perhaps, they might bring the balloons back for the final camp next month? Lets wait and see….
Our Advanced Camp for our teenage members was up next and we had 15 boys take part in football and hurling sessions and S&C session.
A big thank you to Eoghan O’Connell and Joey Ryan for the help doing the S&C session and for allowing us to use the Excape Gym, located on the club grounds. What a wonderful facility to have on our doorstep. Thanks guys.
Next up, we had our NEIC/Scoil Cúl Camp in Alfie byrne Road. Thankfully, we were able to use this facility with the large number of kids wanting to do this camp and all were accommodated. Another great week was had, even with the very warm weather. Another hugely successful camp and we had over 90 kids in attendance.
The last 3 camps have been a big success and that’s down to the great young coaches we have coming through the ranks.
A massive thank you to Thomas Gleeson, Caoimhe Crowe and Johnny Rock – without these 3 powerhouse members, the camps would not have been as successful as they were.
Our last camp for 2022 is on the 15-19 August and we always save the best to last!!!!
There are still a few places left, so get the kids signed up before it is too late….
Championship Season has Arrived..
Our Senior Hurlers kicked off their Championship campaign on 20 July with a home game against Naomh Fionnbarra. What a tantalising game that ended in a draw with a score line of 0-19 apiece.
The next round was played on Saturday evening, 23 July, a home fixture against Ballinteer St John’s. A hard fought game that didn’t go Scoil’s way. The final score
Scoil: 2-12 Ballinteer St John’s: 1-20.
The next hurling games are fixed towards the end of August.
Our Senior Men’s footballs are back in action next week – keep an eye on the fixtures for details of their games.
Wishing all of our Senior Team (both Ladies and Men’s) the very best of luck in the Championship.
As always, all support is welcome and appreciated for all of our teams.
Club House Bar
Our Club House Bar is opened every Thursday evening from 9pm – all are welcome.
Our Club House Bar is also available to book for Private Events.

We Need You…
As we are gearing up to return to training and games in our Juvenile section, we encourage all parents to get involved with their children’s teams to ensure smooth running of training sessions and matches.
This could be a small contribution such as arriving 10 minutes before a training session to help with set up or staying 5 minutes afterwards to help put all items away. As we all know, “many hands make light work”
With many of our young members now playing matches on a regular basis on Saturday mornings, help is required for our Scoil Hoppers GAA Academy. It is a great way to get to know many of the club members across the various age groups and to contribute to the future of the club.
There are many roles that you can assist – not just coaching (if you are not comfortable doing coaching) – please speak to Thomas, our GPO: 085 133 7728, Ciaran, our Scoil Hoppers Lead: 087 233 3720 or any of the coaches – help is always welcome.
There is no need to be shy! Your contribution, no matter how small, will be very much appreciated.
