Notices
A huge congratulations to Senior Hurler, Alan Cronin and Lorena on their marriage. Alan and Lorena were married in Torrevieja on Saturday, 10 September. A great Scoil Group were present to celebrate with the happy couple.
Congrats Alan and Lorena and wishing you both every happiness for your future lives together .
Also, congratulations to Michael Egan, a Scoil stalwart, and Kristen Johnson, on renewing his vows in Dingle on Friday, 09 September.
Michael played with the club all his life, ending up with the men’s first team during their recent glory days, before emigrating, with work to the USA, where he met his bride, Kirsten Johnson.
They finally got to celebrate their wedding with their family after COVID played havoc with their original plans.
The Egan family are steeped in the club – his parents are Liam & Kathy, all of his siblings played and his uncles are Padraig & Richie.
Congratulations Michael and Kristen. Wishing your both every happiness for your future lives together and delighted that you finally got to celebrate with your family.
Match Reports
U8 Girls
The u8 girls, helped by some u7s hosted Whitehall Colmcilles and Craobh Chiarán for Camogie last Sunday on a beautiful sunny morning.
The girls showed great determination and their defence skills are getting much stronger. It was the first match they tried lifting the ball and they showed great promise.
U18 Ladies Division 5 Football Championship
Clontarf Road
Final Score: Scoil Ui Chonaill 6-7 – O’Toole’s 0-7
After a great win in Swords, we welcomed our old rivals O’Toole’s for the 2nd Round of Championship action.
Again fielding a team with players from U14 up to Minor, the Scoil girls did themselves and manager Peter Keohane proud yet again.
The visitors played with a strong win in the first half but our girls dominated the game with the defence not giving an inch. Three points is all O’Toole’s could muster in the first half with our forwards on fire, scoring 4-3 in reply.
With the breeze in our favour we put the game to bed early on with two superb goals. O’Toole’s never gave up and finished the game strongly scoring some well taken points. However our defence stood strong yet again, with another clean sheet for Billie O’Brien in goal. This win guaranteed the girls a place in the semi-final. This match will decide who tops the group between us and Whitehall Colmcille.
All support is always most welcome.
Team: Billie O’Brien, Andrea Chapman, , Eve Courtney, Freja Dillon, , Liadan Garner, Realtin Leahy, Meadhbh Kavanagh, Emma Mc Grane, Therese De Brun, Aine Kavanagh, Caoimhe Keohane, Realtin Candon, Sophie Galvin, Sorcha Mulligan, Emilie Slyne, Lilly Mc Quaid, Eabha Mulligan, Marta De Brun.
Manager: Peter Keohane.
U16 Boys Football Championship
Final Score: Scoil Uí Chonaill 4-16 – Naomh Fionnbarra 3-14
37 scores in a end to end championship match!
Scoil started the game very brightly and rattled off 4 points without reply away to Naomh Fionnbarra at the Bogies.
The Barrs bounced back with a well worked goal and point to leave the teams all square. Scoil took control again and hit another 1-4 to take a strong lead with some fine points by Jack Kennedy before the Barrs bounced back with 1-3 just before half time to leave only two points between the teams at half time.
Scoil started the second half strongly with well worked goals from Tiernán Browne and Fionn Daly. Alex Courtney got a super point after a long solo run from the full back line. The home side bounced back with some very well taken points and the gap was narrowed to 3 points with 15 minutes to go before Luke Murphy was taken down for a penalty that was very well despatched to the back of the net by Conor Maher. Sean Morgan slotted over some lovely points to leave Scoil with a well deserved 5 point away win with one group game to play at home to O’Dwyers with a place in the championship quarter final at stake.
Great to get a big home support down for the final group game on Saturday 8th October ahead of Senior hurling match.
Feeder Schools – Mentors Night
The Club hosted a night for the Principles and Teachers from our feeder schools on Thursday, 29 September.
There was a great turn out of both teachers and principles and many of the Scoil Mentors were in attendance on the evening, building stronger connections between the schools and the club.
A huge Thank You to Thomas Gleeson, Club GPO and to all mentors for coming along.
Caoilinn O’Sullivan-Lowry – what an achievement
Its not everyday that an urban school wins an Agricultures Science Competition but that is exactly what Scoil Minor & Ladies Team player, Caoilinn O’Sullivan-Lowry and her pal, Aisling Gallagher did for their school, Manor House in Raheny.
They are both in 5th year in Manor House School, and their prize was 5 Angus Calves… They were presented their prize at the Ploughing Championship last week in Co. Laois.
The calves will remain on a farm in Laois and the girls will travel down regularly to monitor and watch them mature into beef cattle.
What an achievement ladies – well done Caoilinn and Aisling from all at Scoil
Camogie News

This is an important first step in ensuring the future of Scoil Camogie, and we encourage all to attend on the evening.

U15 & U16 Girls – Rapid Recovery Rooms, Finglas
It was a time for great fun, rejuvenation and relaxation when the U15 & U16 girls teams visited Rapid Recovery, Finglas recently.
Ice baths, saunas, hot tubs and cyro boots were all part of excellent service received at Rapid Recovery.
The girls had a brilliant time, just being together as a team and chilling out and of course having plenty of laughs along the way.
What a great experience for the girls and a great bonding session for the two teams. I think we can all agree that the smiles on all of their faces shows just how much they enjoyed the experience.
Should you have any queries on the excellent Recovery Rooms, please see https://www.rapidrecoveryrooms.ie/our-facilities – by all accounts, you wont be disappointed.

We Need You…
Now that our teams are back to training and playing games on a regular basis, it is the perfect time to get involved.
Help does not need to be in a coaching capacity – it can be helping with setting up the stations for our Scoil Hoppers Academy or help with setting up pitches for games/training sessions. You do not need to commit to each weekend but if you are available to help, it would be very much appreciated.
Please speak to Thomas, our GPO: 085 133 7728, Ciaran, our Scoil Hoppers Lead: 087 233 3720 or any of the coaches – help is always welcome.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will be very much appreciated.
