The recently up-graded and re-surfaced Club car park has now been fully lined and thanks to everyone involved.. I am sure you will agree the club grounds and facilities are looking impressive!. Peter Morely, Facilities Manager, explains ,“The current parking layout has endeavored to make the most efficient and safe use of the limited space available. In completing the parking Plan particular regard was had to a potentially hazardous situation observed when vehicles exiting the Club encounter grave difficulties making a right turn. This situation is particularly evident on Saturday mornings on the completion of nursery activities. For the reason outlined an advisory “left turn only” has been installed at the exit lane. Club management is most anxious that all concerned would comply with the new arrangement. As first step mentors and others in charge of juvenile activities, which generate considerable car traffic, should encourage the new arrangement. Let’s look after each other!!”

Thank you!

Scoil Camogie – Weekend 13/14th June

U13’s Graduate From Go Games With Honours

Scoil Uí Chonaill: 5 – 3

Naomh Fionnbarra: 1 – 0

On Sunday the Scoil U13’s girls played their first ever camogie league match. Having  only managed to play 3 Go Games during a Covid – interrupted 2020, there was  understandably a few nerves heading into their first ever competitive game.

After a tight first quarter the girls settled into the game. There were some great skills  on display all over the park, with some cracking scores to add to the excitement.  The girls worked well as a team, belying their lack of game time, and ran out worthy  winners in the end. Conditions at Clontarf Road were perfect and the girls enjoyed  the game in brilliant sunshine. It was also great to hear the vocal support of parents,  siblings, grannies and grandads from the sideline.

Hats off to all the girls, they played with great determination and enthusiasm.  Special mention must go to team captain Taiya McCann, whose performance can  only be described as majestic.

Great to be back playing again. Smiles all round!

U12’s Camogie Challenge ‘v’ Whitehall

On Saturday the Scoil U12 team bolstered by some U11&U10 players put on a strong  performance against Whitehall. We fielded two teams playing two games each.  Performances were strong across the two teams with excellent skills on display.  Congratulations to all those who played up, rising to the challenge and getting fully  involved. Excellent performances from Emily Ruane and Abbey Harnett for one team  and Aisling Casey and Aifric Ní Riain on the other team. It was a beautiful afternoon  for camogie and everyone was delighted to be back. Roll on the beginning Of Go  Games!

U10’s Camogie Challenge ‘v’ O’Toole’s

Scoil Under 10’s Camogie Team made their first outing of the year at ‘home’  in glorious weather at Alfie Byrne Road last Saturday. With the assistance of  some of the u9s girls we were able to put out two teams against O’Toole’s,  who were playing the first ever Camogie game. It was great for everyone and  especially our new girls to get playing and wear the scoil jersey after the last  year.

Scoil unusually started fast with the Under 10s leading the way and after a  short time all the u9s followed suit with great striking and blocking. Great  efforts were made at lifting and ‘air hurling’ too. There were great displays all  round but in particular our newest players Katie, Miley and Nicole were  excellent, strongly supported by all their teammates. Thanks again to all the  Under 9s who no doubt will join us in more games during the year.

Scoil Minor Hurlers 0 11 Naomh Barrog 1 7

It was a significant occasion on pitch 14 on Sunday being the first game by a Scoil Minor Team for many a year.

The result was not significant although always better to win than lose, but it was great to see both sets of lads on the pitch enjoying playing a game again.

The detailed analysis can wait for the competitive games but, for now, we are proud to have very Scoil represented in Minor hurling again and the lads enjoying themselves after a hard year.

U9 Match Report

The U9s boys played their first GoGames football match against Na Dubh Ghall GAA club in Baldoyle on Saturday last. It was a beautiful morning with the sun shining and little or no wind by the sea location. There were excellent skills displayed by all the kids and it was great to see the kids back out playing games again. Well done to all the kids.
