Easter Camp

Plenty of fun for the 50 kids who took part in our Easter Camp in the club last week. Aimee and her team of coaches did really well to keep the girls and boys busy with the grounds a little wet after all the recent rainfall. Pictured below some of our Coaches in the mud!

Happy Easter to all our members, friends and families.

Around The Teams

A quiet month of games with the weather having a massive impact on fixtures.

Under 14 Boys

A great win for our lads over Whitehall Colmcilles last weekend. A strong first half performance with the wind paved the way for a super result for this hard working team.

Under 15 Camogie

Wonderful display of Camogie from our Under 15 girls on Saturday 3oth March in a great win over Naomh Mearnog which makes it two wins out of two in the league. With players from Under 13-15 playing, there were excellent performances across the whole team. A really positive sign for the growth of the Camogie section in the club.

Under 16 Camogie

Our Under 16 Camogie team are off to Carlow this week to take part in a Leinster Camogie Under 17 Blitz with opposing teams from Kilkenny, Carlow, Dublin and Wexford so great challenges for the girls. Team Mentor, Dave Daly said “Its a great event for the girls and they are really looking forward to travelling down and experience playing against other clubs in Leinster”.

Minor Lads Hurling

Our Minor hurlers suffered their first defeat in the league last week against St Olafs. The lads put up a very good score of 5-10 but some key decisions went against the lads and Olafs saw out the win to remain top of the league.

Adult Junior Hurling

The Junior hurlers will hope to continue their winning start to the league when they entertain Na Fianna in Scoil on Sunday next. After victories over St Finnians and St Sylvesters in their opening two league encounters the mix of youth and experience is proving to be the key ingredient in their success to date.

After failing to field minor teams for a few years the club’s adult hurling teams were starved of young players coming through the ranks. This particularly affected the Junior team resulting in a failure to field in the league last year. Thankfully the addition of young blood from last year’s minor panel has provided a much needed boost to adult hurling in the club and has enabled the Junior squad to compete once again. Let’s hope this can continue when the combination of exams and travel will inevitably prove challenging in the months ahead.

Schools Update

St Pauls College with four of our Minor players are in the Dublin schools final against Colaiste Eanna.

Our Dubs Stars

Fionn Daly has been selected on the Dublin Minor Hurling panel. Fionn had some excellent displays at midfield for the Dubs in a number of recent challenge games with the Minors in championship action against Wexford on the 20th April, venue yet to be confirmed.

Catarina Almeida (pictured below) has been playing at Centre Back for the Dublin Minor ladies with very strong performances in all of Dublins games to date. The Dubs lost narrowingly to Meath but beat Kildare and Laois in the group stages. Martha De Brun is also on the Dublin Minor panel with Alex Chapman a selector and Daria Chapman managing logistics.

Jack Kennedy is on the Dublin Under 19 Hurling development panel. Jack who was on the Dublin Minor team last year is a top class hurler.

Sadhbh Moran and Ella Geraghty are on the Dublin Under 17 development squad.

Scor Senior Finals

It was a proud day for the club last Sunday with two wins for the club in the Scor Sinsir Finals which too place at Erins Isle. Aoife Maguire took gold in the singing and both Aoife Maguire and Aoife Colbert took gold in the trad instruments. We also came second in the Trath na gCeist. Special thanks to our Irish Officer, Ruairi Colbert for his work in coordinating.
